The weekly journal consists of the following content with the headings used as indicated below:

2. Summary of Week’s Activities This should be a brief daily summary (include date) indicating the following for each activity: a. The type of activity b. Where and when it occurred c. Other persons involved in it – staff and/or client(s), identified by first name only. d. A brief description of what occurred, emphasizing the student’s role e. Number of hours completed for the day f. Total hours for the week should be recorded after the last day of activities for the week 
My first day 9/10/2022 I worked directly with Carol Moore MSW. I was introduced to staff and other falculty members. I got a tour of the facility and an overview of what my internship role will entail. I learned about the behavioral health unit. I spent most of the day training on the computer learning the Epic System, learning the codes and the difference between voluntary and Involuntary commitment, viewing patient profiles, reading casenotes documented by case managers, RN’s and psychiatrist to get more familiar with the patients before direct contact. I was able to listen in on phone conversations with patients’ families to discuss patient discharge. We went over treatment plans and advance directives. I truly hope I can continue to work under Ms. Moore I really feel that I can learn a lot from her. I’m extremly comfortable at the unit. I work with some of the patients because of my current position in the dietary department. Also I’m a case manager at  pinnacle treatment center. Atin information for my current role. So I feel that I can learn and I have a lot of patients  with MH problems. So this internship is perfert.
3. Values and Ethical Practice Discuss and reflect on use of professional social work values and implementation of ethical practice in your internship activities and experiences this week. 
4. Critical Thinking and Professional Knowledge Reflect on your use of self in your internship. How did you utilize critical thinking skills and engage in knowledge-guided practice? Discuss how you accessed needed (new) knowledge and information for effective use of self in internship activities and experiences. Include in this section knowledge utilized and gained in work with diverse persons within the context of the agency (this may include both clients and agency personnel). 
5. Reactions to Internship Experiences/Activities How are things going in your internship? Discuss the positive as well as the negative. I really like the facility and I can see myself working there after graduation. I definitely want to work in a hospital setting.
6. Response to Feedback Response to faculty field liaison’s feedback, including issues raised and questions posed. I got some really good feedback from Ms. Moore. I was told that I was very observant and that I asked a lot of good questions. The only issue that I have is the schedule. I’m trying my best to work that out.
7. Total Hours to Date The student should document a running accounting of hours completed to date. This should be the last journal entry. (Total Hours to Date:) Note: Example of journal will be provided to provide direction for completing journals.
