Capstone Project Overview

The Capstone Project will initiate change in a healthcare setting.

· It is a field-based planned project within the scope of your current professional role.

· Project scope should be approximately 8 weeks in length.

· Project should be feasible with support of:

· Resources (human, financial, material, and time)

· Stakeholders

· Organization/setting

· Project involves application of strategic planning and project management processes.

· Project must address a problem or need.

· Project must be patient-focused and include a goal to improve patient outcomes. Your assessment of the problem and feasibility of a solution must include direct input from patients or recipients of care (survey results, comments, interviews, patient data, etc). Review chapter 22 in the textbook, Leading and Managing in Nursing (Yoder-Wise, 2019) regarding patient-centered care

· Project must include potential, viable solutions.

· Project facilitator and setting must be secured with Capstone Project Agreement submission.
