Online games comprise video games that are usually played via the internet or a computer network either partially or primarily (Willingham, 2018). Technology and innovation have opened doors for new experiences that have made it possible for people to interact and enjoy themselves in great ways. For instance, through modern gaming platforms, individuals can now engage in online multiplayer games facilitated by devices such as PCs and consoles, among others (Study International, 2020). This has resulted in the birth of esports, where individuals compete in video games among other gaming activities that are carried out. This paper elaborates on how online games have been used and can also be used to obtain individual economic gains.
Impact of Online Gaming Content on Individual Experiences
Through online multiplayer games, individuals can play online games with friends and other individuals engaged in the activity involved. This implies a new online world with players that share similar interests in playing specific games. These games are not only entertaining, but they also offer an opportunity for individuals to engage their skills and abilities as they compete with friends. This implies that through playing online games, individuals can improve their cognitive ability based on various aspects such as hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and attention, among others (Study International, 2020).
Therefore, it is clear that the experiences that are derived from playing online games offer an opportunity for enjoying oneself and improving one’s skills and abilities. Based on the nature of online games that are played, it is possible to engage in a consistent activity by playing online games to determine who is the best. Also, based on the nature in which the games are designed, it offers individuals the opportunity to engage in competitive activities where winners are rewarded. In this regard, the next part examines the relationship between individuals characterized by capitalism in online games.
Relationship between Individuals Characterized by Capitalism in Online Game Streaming and Esports
The nature of the relationship examined in this section is based on how individuals and entities can use the opportunities presented by modern gaming platforms. Although different players involved in the online gaming world may have the same aim: to make a profit, each individual utilizes a different approach in tapping into the opportunity presented. The main players that are involved include the gamers and professional players, content creators, and organizers. At first, for gamers, the main objective is to have fun and explore the presented games. Professional players have a different objective where their main objective is to earn a living through playing online games. On the other hand, content creators and organizers create a platform for the gamers and the professional players to interact through the games. Therefore, the next section will examine how the activities available through online games can be used for economic gain from a capitalist perspective.

Just like any other competition that exists, online games can be used for obtaining economic gains. At first, individuals can venture into online gaming to make a profit from competing with others. This has also led to the birth of other related professions, such as coaches, commentators, and casters, among other support staff such as referees, production crew managers, and analysts, among others. This implies that the new gaming culture has created a new opportunity for economic sustainability. Therefore, through the potential that has been created by the professionals that have emerged to support online gaming, individuals are now able to make a living that transits into economic development and growth.
On the other hand, content creators and organizers are usually driven by capitalism, where their main objective is to make a profit. Without the support offered by content creators and organizers, it would be impossible for professional players to derive any gains through gaming activities. However, the content creators and the organizers are also driven by their motive to make a profit. Therefore, online gaming can also be perceived as an economic venture for them. For instance, by simply organizing esports, individuals can outsource funds through various operations undertaken, such as advertising operations and event sponsors that enable them to make a profit (Willingham, 2018). The proceeds that are taxed are also used to contribute to other areas of the economy. Therefore, online gaming offers great opportunities for making economic gains that capture the opportunity that has been created by modern gaming platforms.

This paper explains the relationship between the online gaming world and the ability to make economic gains. It is clear that although online gaming offers an opportunity for individuals to enjoy and interact competitively with one another, it also offers an opportunity for making economic gains. Through the gaming culture that has developed with technological advancement, individuals can compete with one another to make earnings. This requires a system for the support that has brought in new opportunities that can be exploited. Therefore, it is clear that through the possibilities that are facilitated through the modern gaming world, various economic benefits can be derived. Therefore, even as individuals play online multiplayer games for fun, they should also consider looking for ways to derive economic gains through the activities involved.
